Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province is expected to host nearly 100 sports events this year, according to the Wuxi municipal bureau of sports.
The events involve basketball, table tennis, chess, dancesport, swimming, gateball, and equestrian sports and include eight international events, such as the Wuxi Marathon and World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions Series, and 30 national events.

To better train young sports enthusiasts, the city will also organize various sports competitions for teenagers, including the Jiangsu Junior Weightlifting Championship, fencing competitions, and swimming championships.
In 2021, the Wuxi Marathon attracted 27,000 participants from around the world, many of whom brought their families and friends to Wuxi to tour around and taste local delicacies, generating 93.7 million yuan ($13.79 million) in business revenue.

A representative of the Wuxi municipal bureau of sports said that in addition to the 78 sports events, more sports events will be held in Wuxi this year to help local residents develop a habit of daily exercise.
