Cerba Research, the largest central medical laboratory in Europe, will establish a world-leading central medical laboratory in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, according to a signing ceremony held in Belgium on Feb 2.
Cerba Research will set up a joint venture with Wuxi-based Teddy Clinical Research Laboratory and build the laboratory in the Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Park, or I-Campus.
The laboratory is expected to become an important evidence-based center in China for innovative medicines, vaccines, and diagnostic reagents.

During the pandemic in China, Cerba Research maintained sound cooperation relations with Teddy Clinical Research and helped it with clinical tests for COVID-19 vaccines, diagnostic reagents, and medicines.
Cerba Research's operations in I-Campus will further raise the professional and international level of the industrial park and advance the construction of a world-leading evidence-based medicine system in Wuxi, said Kuang Hong, deputy general manager of Wuxi Life Science Industry Development Co Ltd.
Located in the Ghent, Belgium, Cerba Research has undertaken data analysis of clinical patients for large numbers of new medicines and vaccines and built 3,216 clinical trial sites in 76 countries.
Teddy Clinical Research boasts advanced laboratory techniques in cellular immunotherapy, tumors, diabetes, hepatitis, cardiovascular disease, and vaccines.
