The 2022 Yangtze River Delta Cross-border E-commerce Industry Development Summit and Trade Fair was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 11.

The event was attended by nearly 300 leading experts and scholars and representatives of government departments and e-commerce enterprises.

Huang Lan, deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, said at the opening ceremony that the YRD is one of the regions in China with the most vibrant economies, highest level of opening up and strongest innovation capacity.

A relatively complete cross-border e-commerce industrial chain and supporting system have taken shape in the region, which plays a significant role in China's opening up to the outside world, added Huang.

He also said that Wuxi, located in the center of the YRD, boasts an advanced real economy and should learn from the experiences of other cities to boost the high-quality development of its cross-border e-commerce industry.

The YRD is a cradle of China's cross-border e-commerce industry, and Jiangsu has rolled out a series of measures to support the industry's development in recent years, according to Wang Xuanqing, special correspondent of the Ministry of Commerce in Nanjing.

At the opening ceremony, Wuxi launched five public service platforms involving electronic parts and components, international internet marketing services, cross-border e-commerce trading fairs, auto parts, and livestreams.

Seven leading cross-border e-commerce platforms, including Alibaba, Amazon, and eBay, published preferential policies for enterprises at the opening ceremony.

The Yangtze River Delta Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair, occupying an exhibition area of about 30,000 square meters, attracted more than 600 exhibitors and 10,000 buyers.
