The 2022 Taihu Art Festival is scheduled to be held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, from Oct 24 to Nov 30, local media reported on Oct 11.
Sponsored by Wuxi municipal people's government, the art festival will roll out 100 activities including stage dramas, art exhibitions, and other cultural activities over the following more than one-month period.
The art performances will include symphonies by the China Philharmonic Orchestra, plays by the Shaanxi People's Art Theater, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center and China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater, as well as comedies by renowned Chinese comedian Chen Peisi.

The opening performance of the art festival will be staged at the Wuxi Grand Theater on Oct 24 when head and conductor of the China Philharmonic Orchestra will conduct the symphony Ode to the Land to unveil the festival.
Ode to the Land consists of five movements themed on century, civilization, devotion, homesickness, and mountains and rivers. The symphony depicts the beautiful landscape of China and praises the remarkable achievements made by Chinese people and the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
The China Philharmonic Orchestra boasts the greatest international influence in China and features the best musicians in China.
Many world-renowned musicians, including conductor Eugene Ormandy and composer Krzysztof Penderecki, have performed with the orchestra.
