Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province was ranked among top 10 short-distance tour destinations during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday by several online travel agencies, including Ctrip and Lvmama.
The four 5A tourist attractions in the city received 50,300 tourists at daytime during the three-day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 49.7 percent.
The reason behind this popularity is that the city is home to a large number of tourist attractions, and these attractions offered various activities to entertain visitors during the holiday.

Yuantouzhu Island, or Turtle Head Isle, staged firework shows the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival and on Sept 12. It will hold three more firework shows during the upcoming National Day holiday.
Ancient Meili town organized Chinese-style concerts, opera shows, and lightshows, and in the town visitors also tried their hands at putting lotus flower-shaped lanterns on a river to pray for good health.

Ancient Huishan town reproduced the bustling scenes of Jiangnan streets where hanfu shows were staged and delicious food and handmade articles were on display. Visitors also played traditional Mid-Autumn Festival games, including touhu (throwing arrows into wine pitchers) and solving lantern riddles, when touring the town.
The Qingmingqiao Historic and Culture Block, a popular destination in Wuxi, held an e-sports challenge and a cosplay show, which attracted numerous young people.
