Hubin Commercial Street, which was designated Wuxi's first commercial street with "distinguishing features" by the China Walking Commercial Street Committee, reopened on July 17 after undergoing upgrading.
Located in Binhu district, the 1.38-kilometer commercial street is home to 242 merchants involved in shopping, catering, recreation, and leisure spaces to cover about 200,000 square meters.
The street was built in 2006 and opened to the public in 2008. It has become a popular commercial area among locals and visitors, helping to develop the city's nighttime economy.
Work on rebuilding and upgrading the commercial street started at the beginning of 2020, with the goal of providing visitors with better and more convenient shopping services.
The commercial street now provides more parking space and photo areas for visitors. In addition, more cultural and commercial activities will be organized in the future.
