Wuxi is displaying a variety of local intangible cultural heritage items at the cultural exhibition center of the International Horticultural Exposition in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

Various Huishan clay figurines, Wuxi embroidery, Yixing zisha, Wuxi paper-cuttings, Yixing Jun-glazed pottery, straw paintings, and Wuxi zhima are exhibited at the event.

Wuxi has been carrying out intangible cultural heritage preservation work for several years, following the principle of "protection according to law, scientific protection and effective protection".

The city attaches heavy importance to the discovery and management of intangible cultural heritage items and the training of inheritors. It has prioritized national treasures and traditions such as Huishan clay figurines, Wuxi embroidery, and Wuxi opera.

Wuxi frequently carries out digitalization projects to protect cultural items, and has already completed digital collections of several national-level inheritors and various intangible cultural heritage items such as Huishan clay figurines.

Themed "Green City, Healthy Life," the International Horticultural Exposition opened to the public at the Zaolinwan Tourist Resort in the county-level city of Yizheng, in the city of Yangzhou, and will run until Oct 8. Over 1,100 varieties of plants are currently on display there.

The expo covers an area of about 230 hectares and consists of five core pavilions: the Chinese Garden Culture Pavilion, the Courtyard Garden Pavilion, the Chinese Flower Art Pavilion, the International Horticultural Pavilion, and the Opening and Closing Ceremony Pavilion.
